His books include Between The World and Me, The Water Dancer and The Marvel's book series Black Panther.

 

Ta-Nehisi is currently a writer-in-residence at Howard University. The event will offer insight into one of today's greatest authors.

We are excited to welcome, writer, activist, and the co-executive director of We Testify, Renee Bracey Sherman for the release of her latest book, Liberating Abortion. Joining Renee in conversation is educator, writer and social worker, Feminista Jones.

With the election right around the corner ,this event and discussion around reproductive rights and justice could not be more critical.

A community Q&A will follow the conversation.

The Author Events program at the Free Library of Philadelphia offers the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue with today’s most celebrated voices in the humanities and sciences. Called “the region’s preeminent forum for writers and ideas” by the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Free Library’s Author Events program has earned three “Best of Philly” designations from Philadelphia magazine (in 1997, 2001, and 2009). Since its inception, the Author Events program has grown and now presents more than 125 authors each year in addition to the Field Family Teen Author Series.
